Travis Williams

The raw talent of the band, Travis Williams has been singing for as long as Harlen Simple has been around.   Learning all of the tricks of the trade by doing rather than watching; Travis is a hell of a front man for Harlen Simple.   His soulful slower material will give you chills.  The whiskey throated rock he's know for will make you shake your ass.  The best of both worlds for a music fan.  The instrumentless Williams uses just his voice and passion to keep your attention.

Although he had always loved to sing, it took many shots of whiskey and much persuasion to tame his nerves and get Travis behind the microphone for the first time.  Fortunately, his natural ability and desire to suceed took over and he never looked back.  He went from singing along with the car radio to performing duets with Erick as "Hank & Murdock" (aka the beginnings of Harlen Simple).  "Yeah, I think I shocked the shit out of Erick", states Travis when asked how it all began.  " We were hanging out at our apartment, Erick was playing the guitar, and I just started to sing along.  Erick's jaw dropped.  He had no idea I could sing". laughs Travis.  That was only five years ago.  Travis' musical influences span from OLD Black Crowes (pre KH), Pearl Jam, Gov't Mule and Sublime.  His passion for music and love of perfoming has multiplied tenfold in the past five years.

With a swig of beer, Travis steps up to the microphone and the show begins.  Make sure you are front row center to feel the energy this group puts forth in every performance.
